Andrew Poppy

Is a composer, musician, writer and record producer with a unique body of work and collaborations. In the 1980’s he studied with John Cage and was signed to Trevor Horn’s ZTT records as a contemporary composer making 3 albums for the label. During the 1990s he made a number of chamber operas. His recent collaboration with BBC concert orchestra for orchestra and electronics was presented on the South Bank by Jarvis Cocker


Claudia Brücken

Is from Düsseldorf. She was the singer with chart-topping electro pop bands Propaganda and Act.  Since then she has made many collaborations including those with Glen Gregory (Heaven 17) Andy Bell (Erasure) Paul Humphreys (OMD) and Andrew Poppy.


James Gilchrist

Is a classical tenor who sings chamber music and opera. His numerous recording include the recently acclaimed recording of Schubert Winterisse


Margaret Cameron is a classical mezzo soprano, an opera and choral music soloist, who is currently a member of the BBC Singers. Her recording of Poppy’s Ophelia/Ophelia was nominated for the world of music days in Copenhagen and selected by Francis Wheen for his Desert Island Discs.


Guillermo Rozenthuler

Is an Argentinean singer resident in the UK who performs internationally. His music mixes jazz, flamenco and Arabic music with his native tango.


Lula Pena

Is Portuguese. A Fado singer who explores the ancient troubadour tradition at the root of the melancholic Portuguese song tradition.


Simon Vincenzi is a maverick theatre maker (director/designer/performer) whose work has been presented at the Venice Biennale and by the Pina Bauch festival in Berlin. He has also won numerous awards as a designer.


Azusa Ono is a lighting designer and performer from Japan. Resident in the UK, she loves to dance.


Bernardo Devlin is Portuguese. A uniquely independent singer and songwriter who has made award wining scores for animation.


Julia Bardsley is a visual artist, performer and theatre maker. During the last ten years her Divine Trilogy (with scores by Poppy) has been performed at major festivals. An award winning director, she has directed opera and theatre and art directed concert music. She has been artistic director of both the Young Vic theatre and Leicester Haymarket. Her script for Trans-Acts, part of The Divine Trilogy, has recently been published by Methuen.


Martin Langthorne is from Australia. A sought after lighting designer and production manager. He has worked for the UK festivals Spill and Sacred as well as many touring theatre and dance companies. He has been part of the BARDSLEY_POPPY projects team since 2007.


Fred Defaye is an experienced live and studio sound engineer who has worked with many performers including Bob Dylan and Eurythmics. He is also a sound designer for theatre, most notably with The Peoples Show and Shobana Jeyasingh dance company.
